About Lipe Works
Lipe Works was founded by Laura Revercomb in 2015.
Laura is the great-great granddaughter (and great-great grandniece) to W.C. Lipe and C.E. Lipe. The Lipe brothers studied mechanical engineering at Cornell University, and in 1880, founded the C.E. Lipe Machine Shop in Upstate New York. The Shop became known as an incubator for budding inventors, cutting edge industrial design, and creative collaboration.
Today, Lipe Works honors the same devotion to innovation and design, and builds on it, using a contemporary lens focused on equity and sustainability.
At Lipe Works, we aim to exist beyond any boxes or restrictions – to freely explore and discover what is possible. This may involve alternative materials, or the use of existing materials in new, undefined ways. Guiding this mission is our commitment to creative expression, and collaborative work.
